Women to Work

We’re Jenny Pollock and Emma Shute, the founders, directors and coaches of Women to Work.

Our passion is supporting women to find a work life balance that allows them to not only be great mums but also to be fulfilled happy women who achieve their potential and feel empowered, positive and satisfied with their lives.

We also support organisations to enable the women who work for them to reach their maximum potential.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be talking all about #Thisisforyou – our campaign to demystify coaching and mentoring and show how we can support women to define and find the work that is right for them and their lives. We’re on facebook and twitter so look out for our posts, blogs and competitions too!

We’ll start by telling you a bit more about ourselves, why we set up our business and what we do.

As working mums ourselves we know and appreciate the challenges of work and family life.

Frustrated with the stories we’ve heard over and over from friends, colleagues, clients and our own personal experiences about how difficult it is to juggle a career and a family. We want to work with women and organisations to find ways to make this easier – so the huge talents of women are utilised.

We met whilst studying the MSc in Organisation Change and Consultancy – Coaching and Mentoring at Sheffield Hallam University a few years ago, and were quick to form a friendship which will be long lasting and is the foundation of our growing business.

A with profits social enterprise, we believe in the commercial and social imperatives for individual women, organisations and society as a whole behind improving gender balance and enabling women to be fully engaged, motivated and fulfilled in their working life either independently or within an organisation.

Women to Work’s aim is to offer help to working mums through their coaching workshops, one to one coaching sessions, online programmes and resources, and for those wanting to become a coach or mentor themselves Women to Work offers coach & mentor training through the ILM Level 5 Certificate & Diploma in Coaching & Mentoring (through Red Vanilla an ILM Approved Centre) so whether thinking about returning to work, already in work and considering their options or planning to start or grow their own business. Women to Work supports working women to make it happen!

For organisations Women to Work provides initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation through: ‘ready to go’ women’s development programmes; bespoke development programmes and workshops; research study projects; coaching and mentoring workshops and schemes (including ILM qualifications) and coaching support – one to one, group and team coaching.

Now in its 2nd year and going from strength to strength, we know we have the capabilities and knowledge to provide a service which meets the needs of both the individual women and the organisations we work with. And that also meets our aim of improving gender balance and enabling women to be fully engaged, motivated and fulfilled in their working life either independently or within an organisation.

Look out for more posts, blogs and some new competitions over the next few weeks on our facebook and twitter pages.
